Future POS and Shift4 Can Help You Step Up Your Delivery Game

Future POS Delivery Capabilities

Using Future POS To Deliver To Your Customers

Having started delivery for a restaurant, I understand the day to day struggles that come with delivery. When I first started with FPOS Group, I dove into the delivery functionality that Future POS had to offer. I learned there were many great features that would help run a delivery department built into the system. Additionally, now that Shift4 has handheld devices that your drivers can take onsite and have the customer pay in-person versus over the phone.

Some of Future POS’s delivery capabilities are to display customer information, print their information on a receipt, and use Google Maps. These features have been included for FREE¬†in their software for years now. However, with the shift in to-go and delivery sales from in house sales due to COVID this feature had become even more valuable.

Future POS Delivery

Future POS’s delivery experience starts with integrated Caller ID modules that display customer information with the push of a button. The POS allows you to keep important information such as phone numbers and addresses from your customers. This information then is printed on a receipt instead of writing down the information on a sticky note.

You can take it one step further and have this information printed on a sticky label and include it on a bag or box that is being delivered to your customers. Orders can then be transferred to the drivers putting the responsibility on the driver. Additionally, the driver can use the customer information to bring up Google Maps and get directions to the customer. If your driver does not have a working GPS device, they can then print these instructions.

Track Your Cash

When drivers clock in, it opens up numerous extra features that help the process out. Although cash is being used less often as a payment option, drivers have to carry cash on them. Future POS can track any loans or deposits they need to be made. This creates a great way to track where the driver’s cash is going and limits the number of hands dealing with their cash. Additionally, they are able to settle their own checks. This allows for a smooth transition from order entry, fulfillment, and payment.

Another great feature built into Future POS, is seeing drivers statistics. Right from the front end, you can run a report on a driver’s average delivery time. This helps keep your drivers responsible for how long they are taking on deliveries. Many times you do not have time to track each order a person takes. Future POS automatically does this for you. This allows you to better manage your employees.

SkyTab for Delivery

Shift4 Sky Tab Handheld Device

Shift4 has a handheld device called Sky Tab that allows your delivery driver to take payment in-person versus over the phone. This is a great way to take a secure payment and help out with higher fees and chargebacks.

Using a built-in 4G card, the driver can take this Sky Tab device to the customer, bring up a sale, and ring it out. You can utilize this with the newest version of Future POS. As an extra bonus, the Sky Tab device collects an email address and an internal review from your customer.

This allows you to market to your customers using Shift4’s Business Management System. You can receive a text notification if you receive a review less than a certain parameter. This allows you to be proactive with customer complaints, creating a better overall customer experience.
